My blog has moved!
Hi there, Welcome to my blog...i'm an artist so i will be journaling about my forays into the artistic world as well as the successes and challenges of being an eccentric artist! Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions..i'm new to this!
Well it has been a very busy couple of weeks! I had 2 sets of company from California, Cindy and Kat from Modesto and Ellen Edith the wonderful wacky artist from Santa Cruz. I had fun with my guests. Ellen's visit was very inspiring....we exchanged art ideas, resources and inspiration. Ellen is such a positive uplifting person despite the challenges she has faced in her life. She is a testament to the fact that we all can overcome our difficulties to live a rich and full life. It is a choice to continue on despite what has happened to us in the past. Every day is a new beginning and we have the ability to choose our own adventure! Hanging out with positive uplifting people enriches our lives. Because of Ellen i am finally going to take that Photoshop course which will make my illustration work much more professional and easy! Hopefully!
I was rejected by the California licensing agent which i was hoping would take me on as a client and on the same day i found out that only one person responded to a rather large newspaper article that the Georgia Straight did on my purses and life. Money is tight and i was really hoping to make a number of sales of my purses. So i allowed myself to be despondant for a day. Now i have to get on with it and decide what to do to make money and continue to follow my passion. I think i will journal and perhaps some clarity will emerge!

Today is my daughter Jessica's birthday! Well we are celebrating her birthday.....her real birthday is on Aug. 11th . She'll be turning 28 years old! So hard to believe......it seems just like yesterday that she popped out with these tiny little milk dots over her nose. I think that my two kids, Jessica and Ryan are my greatest creation! What a blessing to have them in my life!
The backyard is all gaily festooned with flowers, glitter, bows and all manner of birthday celebration glitz....there is even a giant Marlin holding up a happy birthday banner. Jessica's chair is all decorated with a bow, flowers, feathers, beads and even a dolls head in her honour since she likes things to be cute but slightly disturbing! Lol....lol...
I love you Jessy!

Well today is another hot day in lotus land! I just finished beading a Namaste plaque to put on the front door. The base is made from wood and painted in acrylics, then i wire it and add beads for a hanger. Its pretty cool .....its a lovely greeting for all who come to the magic cottage. Namaste Means, the Divinity in me honours the Divinity in you!
Soon i will be leaving for a Reunion get together of my alma mater Steveston High. I will be meeting up with my sister who is a year ahead of me, my ex hubby, and a bunch of other friends! It should be a blast! I always find it interesting to see in what manner people have aged....are they more attractive, have they lost their hair...do they have that inner beauty that but can't help letting it shine outwards. People like that are a magnet. That is what i find soooo attractive!
Well gotta get ready!
Peace, love and glitter!

What a beautiful morning it is today! I'm meeting up with my creative group. We call ourselves Eleven since it is a spiritual number. Back in December i was looking for a fun, out of the norm creative group that would inspire each other and also have room for creating the occassional piece of art. Sharing resources was also on my mind. Unfortunately such a group did not seem to exist in my area so rather than mope about the non-existance of this group i decided to form one. I called the entertainment reporter and he put a tiny ad in the paper. I received several calls and so the group started from there. It has been wonderful connecting with these awesome ladies!! We share resources, get together and make fun art and inspire each other. The eleven group has been a blessing. Maybe you might want to think about forming your own Creative Group...don't wait for someone else to create it, do it yourself. Put up notices in your local coffee shop or metaphysical store....wherever you think "your tribe " might hang out and see what happens. Another thing to do for inspiration is to read the book "Wild with a Gluegun" . Its about creative groups that come together. Its a fun book, informative as well as containing some cool crafts!
Have a gorgeous day!

Well its another glorious day in lotus land! We have been experiencing hot weather here....which i love but so many others are having diffuculty dealing with it! I am patiently awaiting a call back from a licensing agent in California to see if she will take me on as a client. I would so love to have my art showing up on greeting cards, bookmarks, magnets , mugs etc. If any of you are aware of any company that my work would suit please let me know! Yesterday the Georgia Straight (B.C.'s entertainment newspaper) did a story on my purses so i'm hoping that the article appears next week. I'm still perfecting my purses....seems to be an ongoing process.
Recently i purchased a 14 foot 1978 travel trailer. My bf David and i are fixing it up a la Bohemian style so that its not boring and beige. God forbid that it be boring!! If i can figure out how to post pictures i will so that you can see the transformation. We have already taken it camping twice and had a blast! B.C. is just full of gorgeous places to camp.....its wonderful to take off even just for a weekend so that you can get away from civilization and replenish your cup!
Have a magical day!
